I read a blog from Napoleon Hill about what is your age. He was looking at it differently than most people. Most ask what is your age and expect the answer to be how many years have you lived on this earth.
That is a reasonable approach. There is another age that you should be aware of and that is your mental age. How is your spirit? You have probably met people who are “old” and are only in their 20s or 30s.
You have probably met people who are in their 80s and 90s who are still young at heart. What is the difference Napoleon Hill believes it is summed up best in the belief that the best is still to come, that what is ahead of you is leading to a better life.
If you believe the best days in your life are behind you, and you cling to memories rather than look to the future you will quickly become mentally old. If on the other hand you believe the best is yet to come it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.
It will inspire you to have that great day in the future. If a person has something to do, someone to love, and something to look forward to then they will embrace the thought that the best is yet to come.
I don’t think I said it as eloquently as Napoleon Hill did but I hope you have caught the bulk of it. So remember “The Best is yet to come” embrace your future.
I will see you all again on Thursday.
