Giving Thanks

I have been neglect in posting this past week for many reasons mainly having to do with end of the school year rush, grading papers and exams. This is week 14 and next week is the last week of the semester.

The students are struggling to get in all their home work and I am trying to finalize all my class plans. In reaching out to all the students I teach one came back with a issue I have been blessed to not having to deal with.

She has been homeless for the last 10 weeks, sleeping on a friends couch and unable to get her assignments in and get to classes. It makes me think of myself, I have been fortunate never having to deal with the problem.

There are so many things I have to give thanks for. Family that loves me and I love them. Health that allows me to keep working at a new career well into retirement. A passion for life and a spouse that loves me.

Am I rich in dollars, and the answer is no. Am I rich in experiences and family and health and the answer is yes. Next week I intend to explore what makes people happy. I know it is not money because I know a lot of people that have money and are not at all happy.

I look forward having conversations with all of you next week. May the Christmas seasons promise of hope, love, peace bless all of you over the next 4 weeks. If you want to participate in this process and join my first class please send me an email to bobchuckpatterson@yahoo.com
