You might want to consider that retirement is like going to dinner rather than going to the grocery store. Rather than thinking your going to binge on one thing you probably should take it as a multi course dinner.
A young chef made the comment, I got my first cooking job, despite having absolutely no experience because I told the head chef, “If food is pretty, people are already halfway to liking it.”
He was hired on the spot, knowing he could teach the cooking skills. That he already understood the psychology of appetite. When a server puts a plate of colorful, artfully arranged food in front of you, you exclaim, “that looks delicious!”.
You are ready to believe the food is tasty before ever taking a bite. When you go to dinner you enjoy it slowly, one course at a time. When you go to the grocery store it’s a binge – you are buying for a week or two.
You can envision enjoying all the food but it will be many days before you get to it. By that time some of it will have spoiled or is well passed its best. Take your preparation for retirement slowly, enjoy every minute of it and taste how beautiful life is.
The third phase of life, the returning phase is your chance to seize that opportunity. Are you a symbol of hope and inspiration to those around you? Do you wonder what you can give to help those who follow you?
Is your life message inspiring to all those around you? If you have struggled with these questions and issues then Patterson2Y2R should be a place you should visit.
Share your stories and challenges. I have an ear that would love to hear your stories. Let’s taste the real meaning of life. I am still working on my course with a goal of launching a starter course by June 30th, and I will keep you abreast as to how the process goes.
If you want to participate in this process and join my first class please send me an email to www.bobchuckpatterson@yahoo.com
