This is a membership Morsel from “Too Young to Retire”. Today, we are continuing to
talk about Wellness and the many forms it takes.
One of the aspects of health that many people never really talk about is about consciousness or your sense of wellbeing. This is especially important as we come out of the lockdowns that happened during the Pandemic.
One of the big issues of the Pandemic was mental health isolation. It was brought on by the lack of human contact caused by the requirements that we avoid other people. It was also brought on by wearing the masks where even when you were with other people, they were still isolated from you.
These accentuated what a lot of people experienced because they were living alone. It is also reflecting the reality that there was no closure with friends and relatives who have died.
There were no wakes, or memorial services, and many times no obituaries. Often, you didn’t know someone had died till months later when someone mentioned it in passing or you were told about a memorial service.
This all had an effect on a large number of people causing them to struggle with a feeling of a loss of purpose and vulnerability. If you don’t have other people to talk to, you miss an important aspect of selfcare and helping yourself be mindful of what you are experiencing.
Selfcare is an important aspect of wellness and mindfulness. By being part of the 2 Young 2 Retire you will be talking with other people experiencing who are experiencing the same issues. Come and see what we are all about.
There are so many things you will learn that you should never run out of options. Sign up for our classes, join in the discussion and become part of our community about life after working at www.patterson2y2r.com
