January 8th came none too soon. I got into their office, and they first took a new set of x-rays and then gave me the news.
I tore my meniscus in my left knee on December 8th, and it then developed gout in it. I have had gout before so I wasn’t surprised, it still hurt.
They pulled 50ml of fluid from my knee, gave me a steroid shot and put me on some gout medicine for my knee. Apparently, the noise/pop I felt back on December 8th was the tearing of my left knee meniscus.
I go back to the doctor on March 4th, the shot seems to be working well. The prognosis is I am a candidate for knee surgery, not at this moment but I should be thinking about it.
I had another appointment for January 12th, and I schedule my knee surgery for Wednesday, April 24th, 2024 three days after the last class I teach ends and I submit the students grades.
I teach in person business classes as an adjunct professor at a local college and I wanted to finish the semester. He had me start on Physical therapy a week later.
I was going three times a week and it seemed to be working. I did P.T. 3 times a week for 3 weeks, the 2 times a week for 3 weeks and once a week after that till the surgery.
As I reduced the P.T. I added in the watercise class hoping that I would get a more rounded workout, by going to watercise at the local YMCA three times a week. Next blog Surgery.
I have an ear that would love to hear your stories. Let’s taste the real meaning of life. I am still working on my course with a goal of launching a starter course by June 30th, and I will keep you abreast as to how the process goes.
If you want to participate in this process and join my first class please send me an email to www.bobchuckpatterson@yahoo.com
