Rainbows

There are many ways to explain rainbows. The Irish tell us that rainbows mark the spot where leprechauns, mythical creatures of the Emerald Isle, would hide pots of gold.

Science tells us that rainbows are a meteorological phenomena caused by refraction, and dispersion of light in water droplets, in the atmosphere. This process separates the sunlight into its component colors, creating the spectrum of colors we see.

The Bible tells us a different story about how rainbows were created by God as a sign of a covenant with mankind. “I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth” (Genesis 9:13, NIV)

I like the last version best. The first one is one about mischievous beings and greed. The second one, which is scientific, is just cold. It promises nothing to make it warm and fuzzy.

The last version is symbolic, representing hope, promise and beauty between mankind and God. God tells us what he will do and that his part is complete.

He then leaves it up to us to not only survive but to thrive. He cleared the palette for humans to prosper. He is now waiting for us to do our part.

The third phase of life, the returning phase is your chance to seize that opportunity. Are you a symbol of hope and inspiration to those around you? Do you wonder what you can give to help those who follow you?

Do you wonder what you could do to make your life significant to someone else? If you have struggled with these questions and issues then Patterson2Y2R should be a place you should visit.

Share your stories and challenges. I have an ear that would love to hear your stories. Let’s taste the real meaning of life. I am still working on my course with a goal of launching a starter course by June 30th, and I will keep you abreast as to how the process goes.

If you want to participate in this process and join my first class please send me an email to www.bobchuckpatterson@yahoo.com
