Wear A Mask Or Not

This is a membership Morsel from “Too Young to Retire”. Today, we are continuing to talk about how your communities are coming out of isolation caused by Covid19.

It is confusing whether or not to wear a mask or not. There are so many mixed signals out there. I hear on the TV about some areas talking about reinstating mask mandates on all people, vaccinated or not.

Some areas, like New York State, have a split personality. It says that some of time you have to wear a mask. Like Doctors, Dentist and other medical care providers which includes visits to Hospitals and emergency rooms, and testing places for having blood samples taken.

Other times you don’t and this would apply to food stores, drug stores, theaters and other areas that have a high level of population attending the store but don’t deliver health care. This leads to a lot of confusion.

So why is it OK to walk around without a mask at 90 % of the facilities but verboten to enter other facilities without one. You would think it is either safe or it is not safe. I have not gotten a response that I feel gives me a good feeling about the response.

I mark it up to political expediency. I can come to no other explanation. It is so different depending upon the state you live in or visit. If you live in a “Blue” state the attitude seems to be, I will tell you what you need to do. You go to a “Red” State like Florida, and the attitude is totally different.

In Florida it seemed no one wore a mask anywhere except one or two people at each store. When I was down there it was so refreshing. There was not the daily or weekly admonitions from the county or state on masks. If you felt more comfortable wearing a mask you did. If you didn’t like masks you didn’t.

So, who is correct, the Blue state or the red state approaches? Come find out how other people are handling these issues and how they feel about them. By being part of the 2 Young 2 Retire you will learn what their strategies are.

There are so many things you will learn that you should never run out of options. Sign up for our classes, join in the discussion and become part of our community about life after working at www.patterson2y2r.com
