You Don’t Always Win

GO BILLS! Is what I had hoped to be shouting from the roof tops this past weekend. It was not to be.

My football team made a valiant effort and clawed their way back from an early end to their season to being in the playoffs. Unfortunately, that is life many time.

The question is will you get back up and work to succeed? Now with football success, is really simple, did you win your division? Did you win the Super Bowl?

In the third phase it is not so simple. What are your metrics? Did you fail spectacularly or did you wander without purpose?

I know what you are thinking, retirement should be sitting in a boat fishing with no pressure or having a drink in front of a fireplace just enjoying the fire.

Both can still be correct, and you can fulfill that life of purpose without the stress of a 9 to 5 job. It does require you to be thoughtful and to keep getting back up and dealing with life.

I would say the motto is never give up. Keep pursuing your purpose and making the most of what life has to offer by sharing it with those around you. Try writing your obituary and see if you need a course correction.

Have you picked up the book “Live Life in Crescendo” by Covey and Haller and are you reading it? I will be talking more about Chapter 1 on Friday. See you then.

I am still working on my course, and I will keep you abreast as to how the process goes. If you want to participate in this process and join my first class please send me an email to www.bobchuckpatterson@yahoo.com
